Lancia Stratos 2010 News And Photos

The Lancia Stratos was one of the best and most iconic cars of the 1970’s which went on to become one of the most successful rally cars of all time winning several world championships. New details of a Stratos based on the original have been circulating on the internet for some time now and we thought we should bring you the latest pictures and news from the industry.

The new Lancia Stratos 2010 has been in testing since July and the prototype has been put into the capable hands of ex formula 1 driver Tiago Monteiro. He has been putting the new car through its paces on the private Balocco track owned by Alpha Romeo. There are no details on performance but it is known that the car weighs in at just 2,650 pounds and uses the 4.3 litre engine from a Ferrari F430. The combination of the V8 and lightweight body should mean a quick 0-60 and sharp handling when combined with the mid engine chassis.

The new Lancia has only been re commissioned because a wealthy industrialist wanted a new version of the original car. The car will go in to production later this year and will be supplied in very exclusive numbers by the end of 2010.
